Wearing human hair wigs can instantly give you the appearance of having a full head of hair. Human hair wigs have become a popular choice for many women because of their immediate and gratifying results.
You may have a few concerns if you’re thinking about getting a human hair wig. Some of the most frequently asked questions about donning a wig are addressed here.
1. What To Consider Before Buying Human Hair Wigs
Buying a human hair wig is a bit like buying a new outfit: You want to be sure it fits right and looks good on you — and, more importantly, you feel great wearing it.
“Measure your head with your hair resting flat on your head and make sure you know how to alter the wig’s size if needed,” says Rani Chetty, founder of Tymeless Necessity Hair.
“Consider the length, texture, and colour as well. A wig that matches your real hair colour may make you feel more at ease, but if you’d rather experiment with different hues and styles, go for it!”
2. How To Figure Out Your Head Size For Your Ideal Human Hair Wig Match
Wigs must fit your head perfectly, or they’ll move and shift. You will generally find three wig cap dimensions – small, medium, and large.
Using a measuring tape, obtain the circumference of your head from the forehead and about your hairline. You can also use a flexible fabric to measure your head. If in doubt, book a free appointment with Tymeless Necessity Hair, and we’ll measure your head and ensure you invest in the correct size wig cap.
IMPORTANT: Make sure that you measure ACCURATELY. If you do not measure properly, your wig may not fit. Measure at least 2-3 times to be sure. Use a soft measure tape to measure. We take measurements in whole and half inches. So please round your measurements up not down. Example: 12 3/4 should be rounded up to 13 and 12 1/4 should be rounded up to 12 1/2.
Good to know: If your hair loss is more severe, a medical wig might be the best option. Medical wigs are known for their high quality and comfort qualities. Various materials such as polyurethane, monofilliment and silicone are included into the caps to enhance grip and comfort when worn on the head.
3. Do Human Hair Wigs Look Natural?
One of the main concerns that women have about wearing a wig is that it will look like you’re wearing a wig! Please take comfort in knowing that our wigs are manufactured with real human hair and the most advanced wig creation techniques. No one can tell if you’re wearing a high-quality wig from Tymeless Necessity Hair or your real hair.
4. Will It Be Comfortable?
Many women considering a wig worry that it will itch, make them sweat, or be generally uncomfortable. However, wigs from Tymeless Necessity Hair won’t hurt, itch, tangle, or make you sweat.
5. Can I Style it?
Styling your hair might be difficult or impossible for ladies dealing with hair loss. Thanks to the 100% natural human hair used in our wigs, they may be styled just like your own hair! Your hair can be styled in various ways, including braids and ponytails.
6. How Do I Wash My Natural Human Hair Wig?
The process of washing a natural human hair wig isn’t all that different from washing naturally growing hair. It just doesn’t happen in the shower!
- Prep: Use a wide-tooth comb to smooth the wig hair before washing. Take care not to pull or stretch the hair fibres.
- Wet: Hold your wig with one hand and use the other to pour lukewarm or cold water over the hair. The wig hair just needs to be wet, but not soaking wet.
- Wash: Put a small amount of shampoo on the wig hair and work the shampoo through the hair, ensuring that you massage your shampoo in one direction, preferably from scalp to ends. Then rinse the hair clean, being careful not to squeeze or wring the wig. Also do this in one direction, from top to end and use cold water. Hot water can change the texture of your hair.
- Condition: Apply a small amount of conditioner to the hair and work it through, letting it sit for a few minutes. Rinse the hair with lukewarm or cold water until the water runs clear.
- Dry: The simplest way to dry your wig is to place it on a wig stand and let it air dry, but you can use a blow dryer on natural human hair wigs. Just be sure to keep the heat setting low to medium heat.
- Style: Once your natural human hair wig is dry, you can style it with a curling iron.
Good to know: Depending on how often you wear your wig, you should wash it every second week.
7. How Do I Pick The Ideal Human Hair Wig For My Face Shape?
There are seven main types of face shapes. While everyone’s facial features are unique, these are the most common shapes that might guide your search for the most flattering wig.
Oval face
Most aspects of the oval face shape are proportional. To this end, this face shape can support all wig lengths and styles.
Round face
The features of this face include a round hairline and round chin. Effective styles for this face form are layered wigs. By adding bangs, you can also cover up a broad forehead, a feature of round face shapes.
Square face
This face features a strong, square jawline along with a square hairline. Curly wigs help soften this face shape and highlight your best features.
Rectangular or oblong face
This face shape includes a high brow and narrow chin. Long layers with shorter angles starting near your cheekbones or lips look great for this face shape.
Cardiovascular system face
Wide cheekbones and a narrow jawline are two main features of this face shape. Choose side-parted or chin-length wigs to soften and slim your chin, while balancing out your cheekbones.
Diamond face
This face is considered a cross between an oval and a cardiovascular system form. It features a slim jawline. The good thing about this face shape is that it can pull off most wig styles.
Pear face
Features of a pear-shaped face includes a round chin, narrow forehand and broad jawbone. Long and full styles will add size to the jaw and balance your facial features.
